Yujie Sun's research group at Peking University is looking for an associate researcher/assistant researcher

——Laboratory introduction——

Professor Yujie Sun received his bachelor's degree and master's degree in Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China, and his doctorate degree in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. He is now tenured professor of Peking University, Distinguished Professor of Liberal Arts, researcher of National Biomedical Imaging Center (NBIC), Biomedical Frontier Innovation Center (BIOPIC), State Key Laboratory of Membrane Biology, and doctoral supervisor. He has won the Elsevier Scopus Highly Cited Young Scientist Award, the Young Overseas High-level Talent Introduction Program, and the Outstanding Young Science Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation, etc., and served as the Deputy chief engineer of the National major science and technology infrastructure for multi-modal and cross-scale biomedical imaging.

The Laboratory of Dynamic Processes of Single Molecule and Living Cell led by Professor Yujie Sun has long been committed to the development of single molecule biophysical technology based on single molecule and super-resolution fluorescence imaging, while carrying out research on cell ultrastructure and function, especially the three-dimensional structure and function of genome, protein-DNA interaction. He has presided over 10 national scientific research projects such as the major instrument research and development of the Foundation Committee and the 863 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and published more than 100 related articles in Science, NatureCellBiology, PNAS and other journals, of which 11 were one article and 43 were corresponding authors. In response to the problems of high background and low resolution in cell imaging, the team developed a series of probes, markers and imaging methods, which provide important tools for the study of subcellular fine structure and dynamic processes. Using these tools, the team conducted a systematic and in-depth study of chromatin structure and function. Compared with sequencing and other research methods, imaging technology provides a unique perspective and reveals the mechanism of high-level chromatin structure regulating transcription, replication and other key biological processes, which has received high attention from the international community.

——Job responsibilities and requirements——

1. Have obtained a doctorate degree, with at least two years of postdoctoral research experience;

2. Biophysics, cell biology or other related research background, biomedical imaging, probe development, molecular screening and other research experience is preferred;

3. Have published three or more high-quality SCI papers by the first author (the requirements for research assistants may be relaxed);

4. Work seriously, practical, responsible, proactive, good at communication and cooperation;

5. Have a strong spirit of scientific exploration, and can independently carry out scientific research work, can assist PI to guide the laboratory related work;

6. Have strong organizational ability and research planning ability.

——Post benefits and platform conditions——

1. The salary shall refer to the treatment standard of Peking University or the treatment standard of similar international personnel, and shall be negotiable according to the actual situation of the applicant; Apply for five insurances and one fund according to the relevant regulations of Peking University;

2. This position is for the research technology series of Peking University, has the career establishment of Peking University, and enjoys the due benefits of Peking University employees;

3. Platform conditions: The National Biomedical Imaging Science Center of Peking University is an independent scientific research institution affiliated to the College of Future Technology, and is the main body of the construction and operation of the "Multi-modal cross-scale Biomedical Imaging Facility", a national major science and technology infrastructure project in the 13th Five-Year Plan period. Imaging facility is a large science project initiated by Chinese scientists in the field of biomedical imaging. The main construction contents include core imaging facilities, full-scale image integration system and related auxiliary platforms. The total investment scale of construction is 1.717 billion yuan. The goal of the construction is to build a "one-stop" cluster of large-scale facilities for biomedical imaging technology that forms seamless docking on the space-time scale and imaging modes, providing revolutionary new technologies, new means and new tools for biomedical research, which is expected to give birth to a new research paradigm and produce major original breakthroughs. The construction of imaging facilities involves many disciplines and specialties such as biology, medicine, physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer, information, engineering, etc., and jointly promotes imaging omics, an emerging cross-cutting frontier discipline with a large span and deep integration. After joining the company, the applicant will be deeply involved in the construction of facilities, get a wide range of cross-cooperation opportunities, and carry out organized scientific research and industrial transformation based on large scientific facilities.

——How to Apply——

The applicant should send his/her resume, cover letter, representative papers, no less than 3 letters of recommendation (it is recommended to attach letters of recommendation from doctoral supervisor and co-supervisor) and other relevant materials that can prove the candidate's ability and academic level to sun_yujie(AT)pku.edu.cn. Please mark your email with "Apply for (position) - Name".

An interview will be arranged for those who pass the preliminary examination. All applicants will be selected according to the materials, and those who pass the selection will be notified for interview and hired on the basis of merit.
