The multi-modal cross-scale biomedical imaging facility development and equipment construction promotion meeting was successfully held

    The National Biomedical Imaging Center of Peking University and the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly held a conference on the development and construction of multi-modal cross-scale biomedical imaging facilities in Huairou on April 9-10. Academician Heping Cheng, chief scientist of the imaging facility and director of the National Biomedical Imaging Center, Professor Yujie Sun, deputy chief engineer of the imaging facility and deputy director of the National Biomedical Imaging Center, and about 50 representatives of Peking University, co-construction units and participating units, etc. attended the meeting.     Yujie Sun first reported the progress of the overall construction of imaging facilities, and introduced the follow-up planning and arrangement of facilities and equipment as well as the requirements of this meeting. He pointed out that grasping the progress of equipment construction, timely self-inspection, and finding the problems in the implementation process will play a key role in promoting the completion of the construction task according to the design indicators and schedule of the facility.


    The person in charge of each device reported the overall situation of the device and the person in charge of each development equipment reported the specific construction situation of the equipment respectively. The discussion focused on the progress of equipment construction, funding situation, relevant achievements, follow-up plans (including the estimated time of entrance installation and trial operation, personnel settlement plan, etc.) and other related contents. On the whole, all the equipment carried out the relevant construction work in an orderly manner in accordance with the task requirements, and completed the stage task objectives. At the meeting, the relevant person in charge also introduced the construction and implementation of the auxiliary platform, the "early bird project" and the science art Museum.


    Participants visited the imaging facility park and the internal space environment as well as the special environmental conditions of the facilities, for the future equipment and personnel stationed in advance planning and design.

    Heping Cheng summed up the meeting. He affirmed the effectiveness of the construction of each device and equipment, and proposed that the meeting achieved the expected results, not only to understand the progress of the construction of equipment and timely discovery of problems and proposed solutions, but also to further strengthen the team collaboration, the future to further implement the task time node, to ensure that the equipment to complete the construction plan on time and the installation and commissioning.


    The infrastructure project of the multi-modal cross-scale biomedical imaging facility has been completed and accepted in November 2022, and special renovation of the special environment is currently being carried out. It is planned that after the completion of all renovation in the second half of this year, the installation and commissioning of the equipment will be carried out, and the trial operation stage will be entered at the end of the year.
