The first group of personnel from Peking University National Biomedical Imaging Center has settled in Huairou Science City
The first group of more than 30 faculty and students from Peking University National Biomedical Imaging Center (hereinafter referred to as PKU NBIC) have officially settled in Huairou Science City, marking the commencement of Peking University's faculty, students, and staff's presence in Huairou.
The initial group of personnel settled in Huairou at the Peking University NBIC
On April 25th, Academician Heping Cheng, the director of PKU NBIC, Jinwei Liu, the Deputy Secretary of the College of Future Technology, and the deputy directors of PKU NBIC, Jiahong Gao, Yujie Sun, and Liangyi Chen, along with the initial group of personnel, visited Huairou Science City to inspect the office and accommodation conditions. Academician Cheng expressed the significance of this move to Huairou, stating it as a "trial journey" for the future permanent operation of imaging facilities in Huairou. Furthermore, he emphasized that, especially during the ongoing pandemic, the health and safety of personnel are of utmost importance. Adequate provisions for living, dining, and transportation should be ensured to make everyone willing to come to Huairou and gradually integrate into the community. The inspection team expressed their satisfaction with both the office and accommodation environments and looked forward to their future work and life in Huairou.
The park's representative provided an introduction to the office environment and shared facilities.
Professor Kuangshi Chen processed the apartment check-in procedures on-site.
The experimental office space for the initial group of personnel is located in the Great Wall Hai'na Hard-Tech Accelerator Park, part of the comprehensive national science center in Huairou. This park officially opened on March 31st this year, focusing on high-end instrument and equipment, as well as sensor industry projects. The Huairou Science City Management Committee and the park have provided the maximum convenience for the personnel of PKU NBIC to settle in and have expressed their commitment to provide ongoing support and services. The establishment of PKU NBIC in Huairou adds vitality to the development of high-end instrument and sensor industries in the region.

The construction site of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" national major scientific and technological infrastructure multi-modal cross-scale biomedical imaging facility (hereinafter referred to as the Imaging Facility) is located in the core area of Huairou Science City. It is one of the major projects in which Peking University actively participates in the construction of Huairou Science City. In order to accelerate the construction of scientific equipment, facilitate equipment development, and undertake on-site installation and commissioning work, PKU NBIC, as the primary unit responsible for the construction and operation of the Imaging Facility, decided to send a "pioneer team" to settle in Huairou in advance before the completion of the Imaging Facility's construction project. This solidifies the first step towards full integration into Huairou in the future.
