About NBIC

Established in 2020, the Peking University National Biomedical Imaging Center (NBIC), affiliated with the College of Future Technology at Peking University, constructs and operates the Multimodal Trans-Scale Biomedical Imaging Facility located in Huairou District, Beijing. Leveraging Peking University’s interdisciplinary strengths in science, engineering and medicine, NBIC develops advanced imaging technologies and instrumentation to realize multi-dimensional digital and intelligent analysis of living organisms, ranging from molecular structures to whole organs.

NBIC hosts state-of-the-art platforms covering multimodal medical imaging, live-cell imaging, high-resolution molecular imaging, integrated data processing and model-animal research, enabling precise, real-time visualization of biological processes. Supported by these platforms, researchers can decipher mechanisms underlying complex diseases, accelerate drug discovery, and drive transformative advances in life sciences and medicine across the globe. Perspective Research Areas

We welcome applicants across all disciplines related to biomedical imaging and digital life, including imaging-based digitization and intelligent transformation of traditional life-science research, as well as disruptive biotechnologies featuring novel algorithms, instruments and probes for observation, imaging and modulation of biological systems. Rooted in distinctive interdisciplinary philosophy, NBIC intersects with a broad spectrum of research fields. Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact us for inquiries.

  • Imaging theory and system development

  • Probe and sensor development

  • Spatial omics based on imaging and complementary approaches

  • Big data, artificial intelligence and quantitative biology
